We will go into each topic more in depth below, but here’s a TLDR of the crayon system:
You can use your “dark stamina” to farm different resources every day, including crayons.
This stamina will be consumed depending on what you are lacking the most. All of them are equally important but the food farm, since you get a lot from events and shops.
Gold crayons only appear at level 5 or more of the crayon farm, so DO NOT farm previous levels since it’s meaningless. As a new player, you should prioritize unlocking higher levels to start farming rather than wasting stamina on lower stages.
You do not need to unlock all nodes on a board to move to the next one. You only need to make your way to the gateway and pay the price to unlock the second (or third) boards.
It’s important to note that the price of unlocking nodes will increase on each consecutive board. It applies to all nodes, but here’s the example with rainbow nodes:
A good strategy is to focus on unlocking the rainbow nodes on ALL YOUR CHARACTERS before you move and start unlocking gateways for your main units. Gold crayons are a scarce resource even at endgame, so don’t heavily invest in units you don’t plan on using more than the first board (2 gold crayons).
Before we talk about recommended stats, it’s essential to know that there are two you should “always” avoid: Physical Defense and Magic Defense.
Unless there’s a node with those stats leading to a rainbow node, never pick these two stats, they’re useless. Damage reduction is “useless” in Trickcal because the combat power difference in story makes it take no effect at all.
There are some monsters that ignore crit hit resistance, so it’s worth less than critical damage resistance. These monsters only appear in KR in later chapters, so you should be fine at the beginning.
