Understanding gear in Trickcal

This guide should only be used as a reference after you unlock Rank 6 gear and above. Before that, you can freely rank up your gear.

I would still not level up gear before rank 6, and if you do, please only put resources into gear that gives ATK, HP and crit rate / damage.

Combat power & gear

Increasing your gear level (from 0 to 5) will increase your stats a lot, but a lot of people in the KR side will always recommend to not level up your gear since it’s a “waste of resources”, but why is that?

There are several reasons, but TLDR: you should upgrade only starting rank 6 and above, and never rank up your gear to the next tier if you don’t have a full set prepared.

• Even if the stats of a +5 piece of gear are huge, when you rank up to the next tier, they’re gone.
• You barely get any resources back from a +5 piece of gear, in contrast to other gachas where the materials are returned.
• You become WEAKER when you rank up if you had a full set of +5 gear, and you can’t farm the new gear since it’s locked behind stages

To see this better, here’s an example of a Rank 6 +5 piece of gear vs a Rank 7 not upgraded:

Rank 6 gear +5; giving you 22,456 HP

Rank 7 gear +0; giving you 7,100 HP

But Sefhi, I have a Rank 7 piece of gear I can upgrade, what’s the problem?

You might have some pieces but a lot of them are locked behind story progression, meaning you will be losing gear, becoming weaker and worse of all, not having replacement for those pieces of gear since they’re locked behind stages you can’t reach yet.

If you understand this system, feel free to level up your gear as you wish. For people who don’t want to lose resources or brick their characters, you can start leveling up gear starting at rank 6 and DON’T RANK UP until you have farmed a new set to level up.
