The level 100 macaron food should be ignored until late game. Don’t buy it before your units reach level 90-ish, since it’s used to level up after level 100.

You can buy certificates (dupes) for your characters here. Buy the units you like or go for meta, it’s up to you. I would recommend saving up for meta units, but waifu is always a good pick.
Don’t go too crazy spending certificates and save for units you really like. It’s expensive to max out a character.
What should you buy (only with gold, NOT GEMS)?
Depending on how many characters you are building, you will have more or less gold. Sometimes you will skip this shop entirely, others you’ll be able to buy everything.
