What is Overloaded Gear?

Tier 9 manufacturer gear can be upgraded once they reach level 5 to Tier 10, also called Overloaded Gear.

This gear will not only be stronger, but also have up to 3 bonus sub-stats that your Nikkes can take advantage of.

You can only upgrade Tier 9 manufacturer equipment if the NIKKE has the same manufacturer and, most important, YOU CANNOT unequip these items, so make sure you overload first your strongest DPS and main team.

What sub-stats can you get?

You can get up to 3 sub-stats that can be stacked between them.

When you upgrade from T9 to Overload, the first sub-stat is guaranteed, the second one has a 50% chance and the third one has a 30% chance.

Welcome to the real endgame, rerolling your gear to get 3 sub-stats useful for most of your units.

Rerolling sub-stats

After you upgrade to Overload gear, you have two options to reroll the sub-stats, Change Effects and Reset Attributes.

Change Effects resets the attributes themselves and rolls for new ones if you got something bad like Charge Damage on a NIKKE with an SMG, where it’s useless.

You can also use this option to try to get more lines if you only got 1 or 2, long term you want all your Nikkes with 3 sub-stats that are useful for them.

Reset Attributes lets you reroll the percentage values on your sub-stats, and this is something you should really not focus until much later in the game.

Using both options will cost you Custom Modules that you can farm in Special Interception and Anomaly Interception.

Priority for sub-stats in Overloaded Gear

Every character benefits from different sub-stats, so if you are in doubt, feel free to join our discord server and ask about what’s best for your Nikkes.

The game reworked CP calculations and now there’s clear options that are better than others. This is a table with some general guidelines below:

Sub-StatPriority
Elemental DMG⭐⭐⭐
ATK⭐⭐⭐
Max Ammo⭐⭐
Charge SPD⭐⭐
Charge DMG
Hit Rate
Crit Rate
Crit DMG
DEF

Since the game is clearly moving towards elemental content, Elemental Damage is the best stat you can get on all your units.

ATK is the second-best stat since it increases your damage regardless of the current element you’re facing. We’re reaching a point where units have so much ATK buffs that there’s little ROI in getting a lot of ATK lines in your gear.

Max Ammunition Capacity works on all units unless they have “last bullet mechanics”. In that case, avoid this stat at all costs.

Charge Speed and Charge Damage work wonders for most rocket launcher and sniper rifles. This priority changes depending on the character, so check our individual unit pages for more information.

Hit Rate makes you hit cores with more consistency. This is a good stat usually for SMG and assault rifle characters but (for the most part) can be ignored on other weapons.

Most gacha games focus on critical damage, but for some reason NIKKE decided to be different. Both Critical Rate and Critical Damage are filler lines for 99% of the characters in the game.

DEF is completely useless unless we’re talking about PVP and even there is not highly regarded. Worst possible line to get.

How to roll for Overloaded equipment lines properly

Rerolling for Overloaded lines is on its own a huge RNG system that is mainly for players who are either in the endgame and rolling for best in slot lines or are aiming to make their gear slightly better and don’t need or plan on overloading any more units currently.

How Overloaded equipment lines currently function is as follows:

Once a line appears on the gear, the other lines are locked out of getting that line (you can’t get two ATK lines). So as you lock or keep lines, the “easier” it is to find the other lines you will need.

The best and most efficient way of obtaining the right lines goes as follows:

Some units also don’t even need a bis third line to be viable or even competitive, so do make sure to look up what your character needs.

The opposite is also possible where there are lines that units MUST have to function fully (units like Alice, who has lines they need. Or units like Summer Anis who has lines they need to avoid).

For more guides and best in slot overloaded lines for each character, we have each of them in our character popups, just head to our tier list or character database and click on anyone.

About locking gear

There are multiple ways you can lock gear nowadays, so adding this extra section to the guide to give more context on that:

If you are farming Anomaly Interception is usually better to lock using this new system rather than wasting Custom Modules.
