Character traits

Pros

– One of the best bellies in the game
– Amazing support for distributed DPS units
– Instant burst can help new players on Special Interception mechanics like Modernia core until they get stronger

Cons

– Not a lot of bosses that throw projectiles to take advantage of the extra damage
– Instant burst can only be activated once per battle, making her kit lose a lot of value for long battles
– Not a lot of distributed DPS units right now to take advantage of her burst

Review

Elegg has arrived with an incredible belly to add to the roster and an… interesting kit. Let’s talk about where she shines, current usage and team compositions.

Starting with skill 1, it increases damage done to enemy projectiles and deals distributed damage after 100 normal attacks. There are almost no bosses that have projectiles that are hard to deal with right now outside of Special Interception for new players, so this part doesn’t have much value at the moment.

The extra damage every 100 attacks only works while the enemy has Boom Install (burst defense down debuff) so you will not really be able to take advantage of this all the time. If you are using a Biscuit team (more on that below) you will benefit from her DPS even less. Low to no priority to level up this skill, level 1 to 4.

Skill 2 has similar issues, providing an ATK buff for everyone every 60 attacks and filling the burst gauge 100% when the target appears on the screen (bosses or elite enemies). The burst gauge is a one time ability that can help squeeze extra damage on raids and new player on Special Interception on some bosses like Modernia to break the core on time.

The ATK buff has the same issues as we previously mentioned. You will not get this unless the enemy has Boom Install active, and depending on team composition this might be every other rotation, making this another skill that takes low to no priority.

Note: Both Skill 1 & 2 will be able to maintain Boom Install on bosses making it a lot easier to use her as a DPS unit and properly support the team, but outside bossing she will be losing both damage and utility since it’s really hard to keep the debuff on normal enemies.

Lastly, her burst skill increases distributed damage to all allies and applies Boom Install to the enemy nearest to the crosshair, dealing some damage and applying a defense down debuff for 10 seconds.

IMPORTANT: “Nearest to the crosshair” single target works without any issues, but when the debuff / skill is multi target, the layering system on the game engine can be tricky and make you miss or apply said skill to enemies you didn’t want to.

Boom Install damage isn’t amazing and the defense down is welcome but worse to similar units like Novel that provide damage taken increased instead. The good part of this skill and what makes Elegg useful is the increased distributed damage to all allies.

Right now we don’t have a lot of units that can really benefit from this buff (Dorothy, 2B and Scarlet BS) but she is “future-proof” as long as Shift Up keeps releasing similar units. That said, please take this with a grain of salt, since we don’t know what their plans are.

Unit synergies for Increased Distributed Damage

There are not a lot of options when it comes to distributed damage units, so let’s talk about possible team compositions for all of them. I’m going to ignore 2B because there are zero reasons right now to remove her from a Mast team with Guillotine and put Elegg instead, since you just lose too much damage.

The other two options are Dorothy and African American Scarlet, aka Scarlet Black Shadow. Let’s start with Dorothy. Your best (and only option for raids, since you need some defensive capabilities) is the Biscuit team, replacing Poli with the newly released Elegg.

The second team is Scarlet BS, and it gets a little more complicated. You need Alice since they always pair together for best performance, and you need CDR, so your options are limited for the first spot. Liter or Volume are the easy picks, and you can have the last unit in the team as a healer or extra damage, depending on the content you are currently doing.

Using Elegg outside on teams that cannot benefit from increased distributed damage makes no sense, so we would recommend skipping her completely or trying to get 1 copy early on for collection. Wishlist material, since she will get more usage the more units with that damage type get released.

Should you reroll for Elegg?

No. She’s a support that only benefits distributed damage DPS units, and right now we don’t have a lot of them in the game.

If you are keen on rerolling, consider checking our guides to see what are the units you should be aiming for.
