Review

Update: Red Hood got buffed, everything remains the same more or less, she just got even better.

Even with all the drama and doomposting, Red Hood is an amazing unit that will fit in a lot of teams and will help players through campaign and end game modes with a new DPS NIKKE that can compete with the top units we have right now.

You can consider her Alice on steroids with better flexibility thanks to her burst, which can also be considered a double edge sword.

Her first skill Glaring Eyes will make her gain Charge Speed with every shoot with 10 stacks of 5 seconds each, but the best part is the second line: it converts excess value over 100% of charge speed to charge damage.

This means you want to focus on getting as much Charge Speed on your OL gear as possible to take advantage of this skill. 4 lines paired with a good harmony cube will make her an incredible DPS.

If you are low on resources you can leave this skill at 4-7, but long term you want to invest her full kit to 10/10/10.

Her second skill, Wild Tooth will make Red Hood gain pierce continuously, which automatically makes her a good unit for a lot of bosses and stages with a lot of mobs.

This skill also changes depending on where you burst with her:

  • Burst 1 makes skill 2 increase defense of all allies for 10 seconds, which is arguably the “worst” part of her kit, as defense up will not keep the team alive, but it’s a welcome buff.
  • Burst 2 makes skill 2 gives her lifesteal similar to that of Helm. Paired with her burst skill, this is actually pretty good to keep her alive thanks to the almost instant charge speed of skill 1 + OL gear.
  • Burst 3 makes skill 2 gives her an incredible ATK buff of 71% for 10 seconds. This is the best buff you can get from this skill, and the one you’ll probably use the most.

Last we have her burst, Red Wolf, just like Skill 2, it changes depending on where you want to burst with her.

Burst 1 with Red Hood is called Beast Cage. It gives the whole team an ATK buff of 77.55% for 10 seconds, which is amazing. This is also paired with the 50% increase in defense thanks to skill 2, making her a good buffer for this position, but remember she’s a 40-second cooldown.

Burst 2 with Red Hood is called The Last Howl. It will taunt all enemies and increase her HP potency by 74% for 10 seconds. Paired with Skill 2 lifesteal this makes her a reliable tank, and you can use this burst if any of your units are about to die and let Red Hood be the focus for a while.

Remember that Red Hood can do a full burst rotation on her own once per battle, as both Beast Cage and The Last Howl reduce the cooldown by 40 seconds only the first time they’re activated.

Burst 3 with Red Hood is called Red Wolf, and it turns her into a killing machine. This will transform her weapon, almost doubling her damage, increasing full charge damage to 250% of damage, pierce range by 100% and charge speed by 100.8% for 10 seconds.

This makes her a killing machine for basically all type of content within the game. Most of the time this is the burst you will be using unless you need her to buff on burst 1 or tank / heal thanks to her burst 2.

All in all, she’s a broken unit that opens up new team compositions for the first time since the game release thanks to her mechanic of bursting at any position she wants.

Should you reroll for Red Hood?

If you started playing on anniversary, it’s the perfect timing to reroll for her and also get other pilgrims on the banner. She’s a really versatile unit and will help you cruise through campaign.

If you are keen on rerolling, consider checking our guides to see what are the units you should be aiming for.

ok thanks ill check it i’m pretty much just followed the guide in nikke.gg and i notice seems the elemental dealt one has a huge leap on CP

  2. Viren21 says:

Is there a priority attribute for every gear for example, on the headgear what should be the priority attribute to consider and so on? since the class power of a nikke is also affected by it

If you want to min max there are specific number of lines yes, but I usually don’t go that deep.

Skyjlv on youtube has a spreadsheet with all that information 🙂
